Epic Safari Adventure

JAMBO - KARIBU!!  Our representatives will warmly welcome us upon arrival at Kilimanjaro or Arusha International Airport.

From there, we will be transferred to our hotel in Arusha, where we can settle in, enjoy a delicious dinner, and unwind for an overnight stay as we prepare for the exciting adventures ahead.

Arusha

Arusha, nestled at the foothills of Mount Meru in northern Tanzania, stands as the undisputed safari capital of the country. Renowned for its strategic location and natural beauty, Arusha serves as the gateway to some of the most iconic wildlife destinations in Tanzania, including the world-famous Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and Tarangire National Park. This vibrant city, with its bustling markets, cultural diversity, and pleasant climate, has earned its reputation as the preferred starting point for safari enthusiasts.

After breakfast, we will set off on a scenic drive toward Lake Manyara National Park, known for its beautiful birdlife and rare tree-climbing lions.

In the afternoon, we will head out on our first game drive in the park. We will drive between the sparkling soda lake and the dramatic cliffs of the Great Rift Valley. As we explore, we will look out for playful baboons, graceful giraffes, zebras, and maybe even spot the famous lions resting in the trees.

After our adventure, we will return to our lodge for a delicious dinner. As night falls, we will relax and enjoy the calm of the wilderness around us.

Suggested Optional Activity–A cultural walk in the village of 'Mto wa Mbu'.

We will enjoy a cultural walk through the vibrant village of Mto wa Mbu, a melting pot of more than 120 different tribes from across Tanzania. As we stroll through the village, we’ll visit local homes, bustling markets, and banana and rice plantations. Along the way, we’ll meet artisans at work—carvers, painters, and farmers—and gain insights into traditional farming techniques, food preparation, and customs.

After breakfast, we will journey to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a relaxing lunch at our lodge, surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Later in the afternoon, we will set out on our exciting game drive into the Ngorongoro Crater, a vast volcanic caldera teeming with life. Often referred to as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the crater is home to an astonishing variety of wildlife. Keep your eyes open for the endangered black rhino and some of Africa’s densest predator populations, including lions and hyenas.

We’ll return to our lodge for dinner and a restful overnight stay, surrounded by the natural beauty of Ngorongoro.

Visit Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, we will descend approximately 610 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a breathtaking natural amphitheatre and a true haven for wildlife. Known as the largest intact caldera in the world, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most remarkable wildlife destinations in Africa.

We will spend the full day on a thrilling game-viewing drive, with a delicious picnic lunch enjoyed amidst the incredible surroundings. The crater floor is alive with wildlife—prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, impalas, Thompson gazelles, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, cheetahs, leopards, and spotted hyenas all freely roam this rich landscape.

In the late afternoon, we will return to our lodge for dinner and a relaxing overnight stay.

Note: A warm jacket or cardigan is highly recommended for the cooler temperatures in the early morning and late afternoon.

After breakfast, we set off for Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s most iconic and awe-inspiring safari destinations. Along the way, we make a brief but fascinating stop at the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most significant prehistoric sites in the world. Here, we’ll listen to an insightful on-site talk by a resident guide and delve into the story of human evolution—right where some of the earliest human remains were discovered.

We continue our scenic drive and arrive in time for lunch at our lodge or camp, nestled within the heart of the wild. In the afternoon, we head out for our first exciting game drive in the legendary Serengeti. Spanning over 14,763 square kilometres, this vast expanse of savannah, woodlands, and riverine forests is Tanzania's oldest national park and one of the world's last great wildlife refuges.

As the sun begins to dip below the horizon, we return to our camp to unwind, enjoy a hearty dinner, and soak in the magical sounds of the African wilderness under a star-lit sky.

Game Drive

Today, we spend the day exploring the endless wonders of the Serengeti plains on unforgettable game drives.

We’ll search for iconic species that call this ecosystem home—black-maned lions, savannah elephants, Cape buffalo, cheetahs, elusive leopards, wildebeests, striped and spotted hyenas, rhinoceros, topis, Burchell’s zebras, and Maasai giraffes, among many others.

We return to our lodge in the evening to relax and enjoy a delicious dinner, sharing stories from the day beneath the starlit African sky.

Suggested Optional Activity

For those seeking a once-in-a-lifetime experience, we can rise before dawn for a Hot Air Balloon Safari over the Serengeti, drifting silently above the plains as the sun rises, followed by a champagne breakfast in the wild.

Game Drive

After breakfast, we head out for more game drives—each one offering new surprises and wildlife encounters. No two days in the Serengeti are the same, and today brings another chance to track predators on the hunt, witness massive herds grazing peacefully, or perhaps catch a glimpse of rare species in motion.

We explore different areas of the park today, taking in new landscapes and expanding our wildlife sightings—from majestic elephants and towering giraffes to swift cheetahs and colorful birdlife.

After another exhilarating day in the bush, we return to the lodge for a warm dinner and a chance to unwind, as the African night comes alive around us.

After breakfast at the lodge, we will check out and head to the airstrip for our scheduled flight from Seronera to Arusha. On arrival at Arusha Airport, our Twiga Tours driver guide will be waiting to welcome us and transfer us to Arusha Coffee Lodge, where we’ll enjoy a delicious hot lunch in a relaxing setting.

After lunch, we’ll be transferred to Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport in time for our outbound international flight.
